Forged in Texas, Named in Finland

Keksi started with our mom's cookie recipe and a simple belief: some of life's best conversations happen around dessert. What began in a home kitchen in Texas has grown into a nationwide bakery with one mission—strengthening families through homemade treats.

Every cookie we bake is inspired by the traditions, recipes, and moments that happen around the kitchen table. Whether you're sending a gift across the country, celebrating a birthday, or sharing dessert after dinner, our goal is simple: help create meaningful moments with the people who matter most.

THE LAUNCH PAD

2020

Armed with a college degree and a total lack of interest in a traditional 9-to-5, I started looking for a way out of the "corporate" path before I even entered it. Growing up, my mom made incredible cookies—so good that people constantly told her she should be selling them—and my love for her and her cookies made the idea stick long before it ever became a business. Eventually, she said what everyone else had been saying for years: "Just sell my cookies." We spent that first year in the family kitchen, turning flour and sugar into a proof of concept. It turns out, Mom was right.

GROWING PAINS

2021

The home kitchen couldn’t hold us anymore. We officially moved into our first warehouse space, traded residential ovens for industrial power, and scaled our operations. This was the year we realized this wasn’t just a hobby—it was a brand. We started shipping nationwide, proving that a cookie born in a Texas kitchen had fans from coast to coast.

FINDING OUR SOUL

2021-2023

This was the "messy middle." We spent two years changing logos, testing color palettes, and searching for a name that felt right. It was exhausting. The name Keksi comes from a meaningful chapter of our family's story. Before starting the business, Sean spent two years serving a church mission in Finland, where he learned the language and grew to love the people and culture. The Finnish word for cookie is "keksi," and when it came time to name the company, it just felt right. Eventually, everything clicked. We landed on the Keksi identity—a brand that feels as premium as the ingredients we use and as grounded as our Texas roots. And for those wondering, it's pronounced like "sexy," but with a K.

OUTSIDE THE BOX

2024-2025

We realized our customers weren't just hungry; they were looking for a way to celebrate. We leaned into our Themed Boxes, shifting from selling individual treats to creating curated experiences. Whether it was a holiday, a heartbreak, or a "just because" moment, we built a box for it. This was the era where Keksi became a staple for gifting.

THE NEW FRONTIER

2026+

Six years in, and we’re just getting started. This year is all about physical footprints and bigger moves. We are currently expanding our base of operations to handle the heat—investing in heavy-duty gear like our new walk-in freezer and industrial mixers to keep up with the demand. We’re also working on stepping into our very first traditional retail space, taking everything we’ve learned online and bringing it to a storefront near you.

Strengthening Families, One Cookie at a Time

Family

Life’s best moments happen around the table—laughing, talking, and sharing something sweet. Our mission is simple: to bring families closer together. If a warm, homemade cookie can help do that, then we’ve done our job. It’s a Texas-sized goal.

Quality

We never settle for "good enough." From premium ingredients to your experience in our shop, we aim for excellence in every detail. We obsess over the little things because we know our customers deserve a product that is truly elite.

Love One Another

We treat everyone with dignity, kindness, and respect. We believe business is a vehicle for good and that every single interaction is a chance to show that we are all part of something bigger. Every customer is treated like family.

Stewardship

We care deeply for the resources and people we’ve been entrusted with. We strive to be thoughtful and generous stewards in everything we do, recognizing that we are building a lasting legacy that extends far beyond a box of cookies.

The Recipe that Started it All

Long before Keksi existed, our mom, Jacque, had been making these cookies for birthdays, holidays, church gatherings, and family get-togethers. They became the cookies people hoped would be sitting on the dessert table when they arrived. Over the years, plenty of people told her she should start selling them. For a long time, we laughed it off. Then 2020 happened. What started as a family recipe and a side project quickly became Keksi. Today, every cookie we make can be traced back to the recipe that started it all.

Frequently asked questions

Why is keksi called keksi?

Keksi is the Finnish word for "cookie." Before starting the business, Sean spent two years serving a church mission in Finland, where he learned the language and grew to love the people and culture. When it came time to name the company, Keksi felt like the perfect fit. It's unique, meaningful, and a lot more fun than calling ourselves Sean's Cookie Company.

Where is Keksi located?

Keksi is based in Fort Worth, Texas, where every cookie is baked, packed, and shipped from our bakery. While Texas will always be home, we ship our cookies all across the country.

Who owns Keksi?

Keksi is a family-owned business founded by Sean and his mom, Jacque. What started as a family recipe and a side project has grown into a nationwide bakery, but we're still very much a family business at heart.

Are Keksi cookies made from a family recipe?

Yes. Keksi was built on recipes that had been part of our family for years. The original cookies were made by Sean's mom, Jacque, for birthdays, holidays, church gatherings, and family get-togethers long before Keksi ever existed.

Do you ship nationwide?

Absolutely. We ship our cookies throughout the United States, making it easy to send a gift to family, friends, clients, or anyone else who could use a box of cookies. For more details, visit our Shipping Information page.

What makes Keksi different?

There are plenty of companies that sell cookies. We built Keksi around something bigger. Our mission is to strengthen families through homemade treats. Whether it's a birthday gift, a care package, a holiday surprise, or dessert around the dinner table, we believe cookies have a way of bringing people together. Plus, our cookies are made from real family recipes—not something dreamed up in a corporate test kitchen.

When was Keksi founded?

Keksi was founded in 2020. What started as a small side project during an uncertain time quickly grew into a nationwide bakery shipping cookies across the country.
